Step-by-step guide
Restoring an entire snapshot
- Select the dataset you wish to restore from the dropdown menu on the left
- Click on the Snapshots icon at the bottom left of the screen
- Select the snapshot from the point in time which you wish to restore to
- From the menu at the bottom select Clone. (this will create a writeable copy of the selected snapshot without altering the original snapshot)
- The cloned dataset will have the restored data from the snapshot
Restoring a file from an indexed snapshot
- Select the dataset you wish to restore from the dropdown menu on the left
- Click on the Snapshots icon at the bottom left of the screen
- Select the snapshot from the point in time which you wish to restore to
- In the directory window, you will see the individual files present in the snapshot. Select any of the files you wish to restore
- Click the dropdown arrow to the left of the file you wish to restore
- Select if you would like to rename the new file, rename the exiting file or overwrite the existing file with the resorted version and click Restore
Restoring from an incident using
When a security incident occurs it is possible to restore affected files.
- Select the BrickStor node form the dropdown menu on the left of the screen
- Click Security Incidents on the bottom left of the window
- Click the specific incident that affected the dataset
- Once the incident is selected you will see options to Show files
- Clicking Show files will show all affected files and give you the option to restore them to a point prior to the incident
